Compare and Contrast

To those of you who have been nervously awaiting some sort of sign or conformation of my arrival :

Yesterday I spent the entire day sitting in Terminal H 3 in Ft. Lauterdale; eleven uninterupted hours of sheer boredom. I venture to say Speed itself could not have helped to pass the day any quicker. Today, however, I spent the entire day posted up under thatch-roofed huts in a hammock sipping some good ol agua while watching the waves roll onto the dark-brown shore of Pochomil; six hours of uniterupted sleep. stepping out of my comfort zone, I think so.

Speaking of comfort, I found a verse in my devotional today that I really enjoyed and felt pertained to stepping out of our comfort zones, as well as persisting in times of hardship and toils. II Corinthians 1:3-7. It's a bit lengthy so i'll leave it up to you to read it or not.

Thank you for your continuous prayer throughout my stay, I am very encouraged in the knowledge that I have such close friends and dear family that support me.

The Countdown

Generally speaking, when you think of a "countdown" your mind subconsciously begins with the more popular numbers; numbers such as three, as used in the countdown  before a race. Five, the number parents generally count to before all Haites breaks out. And in my opinion the most widely accepted, ten. As is the case with ticking time-bombs. However, in this case, despite what is universally accepted and more commonly used, I have decided to start my countdown at seven. Why seven? Well, in seven days from now I will be on a plane and on my way back to Nicaragua where I will be spending the next four-weeks.  For reasons unknown to me, God has given me tremendous favor with Ms. Sandy Carter as well as the other missionaries in Nicaragua, and through that I have not had to pay for anything other than a plane ticket. No in country cost. No cost for housing or food. And no cost for transportation. Which happens to work out wonderfully since I am broke behind belief (financially speaking of course). I do feel blessed though to know that I have a group of close friends and family that continue to keep me in their thoughts and prayers. So, for that I thank you.
I plan on keeping everyone posted on my adventure in foreign lands, however, I recall quite often not having power during the daylight hours, so we'll see how that works out. This being my first "official" blog and all, I'm not sure if I have done it correctly; by that I mean I am not sure if these are meant to cause controversy, spark interest, prove a point, or have the cure for cancer encrypted somewhere in the midst. For my purpose though, I figure I can simply "inform" you of how things are going. With that being said, te hablare luego y Dios te bendiga.
